Cheese Burger recipe

An American-style burger that will please kids and adults alike. For a more satisfying meal, serve with French fries and some extra ketchup!

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef

  • 1 cup American Garden plain bread crumbs

  • 1 beaten egg

  • Salt-to-taste

  • Black pepper-to-taste

  • 1 tbsp American Garden Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tbsp American Garden U.S. mustard

  • 4 tsp American Garden U.S. Mayonnaise

  • 4 tsp American Garden U.S. ketchup

  • 8 lettuce leaves

  • 1 thinly sliced onion

  • 1 thinly sliced tomato

  • 4 burger buns

  • 4 cheddar cheese slices

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together meat with breadcrumbs, egg, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.

  • Divide the meat into 4 patties then place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  • Preheat the grill on medium heat and grease with little oil.

  • Cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties. After 1 minute, top each patty with one cheese slice. Leave to melt.

  • Halve the burger bun and spread 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon of mustard on the bottom half.

  • Arrange 1 lettuce leaf on the bottom then top with the meat.

  • Add a tomato slice and an onion slice then again 1 lettuce leaf. Top with the other bun half. Serve immediately.
