Summer is the ideal season for enjoying fresh and delicious grilled foods. This grilled pineapple chicken dish is perfect for any bbq or outdoor gathering. It is such a delicious combination that you will be enjoying all summer long once you try it!

The grilled pineapple’s sweet flavor complements the savory bbq chicken well. It’s made with just a few ingredients that you likely already have in your house. The key to this recipe is using the right condiments for the chicken marinade. Try American Garden’s original BBQ sauce to ensure the best rich authentic barbeque taste and flavor and American Garden’s ketchup to deliver a sweet and tangy taste for your meal. Additionally, for the best Asian flavors, be sure to use American Garden’s Classic soy sauce.

You can serve this bbq pineapple chicken recipe with some grilled vegetables or black bean and corn salad. No doubt, this grilled chicken and pineapple is outstanding!

  • 1 cup of unsweetened pineapple juice
  • ¾ cup of American Garden’s Original ketchup
  • ½ cup of American Garden’s Original BBQ sauce
  • ½ cup of American Garden’s Classic Soy Sauce
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of freshly minced ginger
  • 500 grams of boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil (have more oil ready for the grill)
  • 1 pineapple sliced into halved rings (you may use canned pineapple if it's out of season)
  • ¼ cup of thinly sliced green onions

  1. 1 - In a large mixing bowl, combine pineapple juice, American Garden’s ketchup, American Garden’s original BBQ sauce, American Garden’s classic soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
2 - Pour the marinade over the chicken in a large resealable plastic bag. Allow marinating in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and up to overnight.
3 - When ready to grill, heat the grill to high. Grill the chicken, basting it with the marinade until browned and cooked through, about 8 minutes per side.
4 - Toss pineapple with oil and grill for 2 minutes per side or until browned.
5 - Garnish with green onions before serving. Yum!
