Mac and Cheese

An all-time kid favorite; American Garden flavored Romano cheese bread crumbs add a twist to the classic recipe.

  • 500g Macaroni

  • ½ cup American Garden Bread Crumbs with Romano Cheese

  • 3 Tbsp. butter

  • 3 Tbsp. Flour

  • 3 ½ Cups Milk

  • 1 Cube Chicken Stock

  • Salt-to-taste

  • Pepper-to-taste

  • 150g Mozzarella cheese, grated


  • Boil macaroni in salted water as per the instructions on the pack.

  • To prepare sauce, melt butter in a medium sauce pan.

  • Add flour and stir.

  • Pour milk slowly stirring constantly until well combined.

  • Add chicken stock, salt and pepper and stir constantly over medium heat until the sauce thickens.

  • Remove from heat, add cheese and wait until it melts.

  • Spray a baking tray with cooking butter and sprinkle evenly with half of the breadcrumbs.

  • Add boiled macaroni then pour the sauce.

  • Sprinkle with remaining breadcrumbs and bake in an 1800 C preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
