Ingredients

  • _To prepare chicken:

  • 1 kg chicken breasts cut into squares

  • 2 cups flour

  • 4 eggs, beaten

  • 2 cups American Garden Breadcrumbs

  • Salt-to-taste

  • Paprika-to-taste

  • 1 L vegetable oil for frying

  • _To prepare the sauce:

  • 4 tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 2 tsp garlic, minced

  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar

  • ½ cup fresh orange juice

  • 4 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 2 tbsp American Garden soy sauce

  • 2 cups water

  • 4 tbsp cornstarch

  • Red hot pepper-to-taste

  • Green onions to serve

Preparation

1- To prepare chicken, sprinkle the cubes with salt and paprika. Dip the chicken in flour, eggs and American Garden breadcrumbs.
2- Heat oil in a deep fryer and fry the chicken cubes until cooked through and golden brown.
3- To prepare sauce, heat oil in saucepan and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add brown sugar, orange juice, rice vinegar, American Garden soy sauce and ¾ cup water. Leave mixture to boil over low heat for 10 minutes.
4- Combine cornstarch with remaining ¼ cup water and mix thoroughly. Pour the mixture gradually over the saucepan stirring frequently until the sauce thickens.
5- Add the orange sauce to the chicken, stir and serve immediately, garnished with green onions.
